Now, there a few reasons I’m declaring Venus as the planetary energy in 2022. Every year has a theme, and behind the theme is a planet shaping, modifying and amplifying it. 2020 theme was a global break down of well established structures and routines where Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter were the influencers, the ones pulling the shots.
2022 will belong to Venus.
Venus-Sun inferior conjunction* occurs during Venus retrograde cycle. This ‘inferior conjunction’ is taking place on the 8th of January 2022 in Capricorn. Why is this important? Like I mentioned in the earlier posts, this is a clarion call for a cycle change in all things that Venus rules- wealth, comfort, aesthetics, harmony, peace, beauty, love and relationships.
The period from the inferior conjunction on the 8th of January 2022 to the superior conjunction on the 22nd of October 2022 is significant especially this year as I’ll explain below.
Each time Venus retrogrades, there’s an astrological phenomenon called a superior conjunction and an inferior conjunction. These conjunctions if plotted in the sky from a geocentric point of view, form a 5 pointed star in over a 8 year cycle. These 5 points fall in one of these signs only – Gemini, Capricorn, Leo, Aries and Scorpio. Let me repeat, every Venus retrograde for a long long time has been in one of the above mentioned 5 signs only. But, every 100 years or so, one of the star points shifts to an earlier sign.
This year, the star point (5th point) moves from Scorpio to Libra. The 5th star point Scorpio is/has been the debilitation of Venus (being that is opposing its domicile in Taurus). But, for the first time in 100 years, on the 22nd October 2022, we shall witness the first superior Sun-Venus conjunction in Libra, the domicile of Venus. Henceforth, every 5th retrograde, this star point will move deeper and deeper into Libra for another 100 years.
This once in a lifetime or once in 4 generations move is epic!
Moving from Scorpio to Libra would mean themes of emotional, mental balance (within and without) harmony, peace would override the tone of destruction, stagnation and war/combative energies of the past…100 years? And (True) North Node transits into Taurus on the 19th of January 2022 the after 19 years and after spending 18 months in Gemini while the (True) south node transits to Scorpio. So one can expect paradigm shifts in Venusian domains.
2022 has begun with a carryover Venus retrograde, the nodes of the moon entering the Taurus/Scorpio axis after 19 years and Uranus still hovering in Taurus for at least another 6 years. Then, we have Mercury retrograding 4 times over the course of the year, and Mars book ending this astrologically jam packed year with a retrograde that extends to 2023.
Fear not though, we have a beautiful, gorgeous conjunction of an exalted Venus and Jupiter(in its own sign of Pisces) towards the end of April 2022, which has the potential to heal relationship woes and financial issues like a soothing balm. (Stay tuned for that post).
Numerologically as well as astrologically, 2022 seems to be the year of Venus as she corresponds to the number 6. 2022 added up is 6.
This year will infuse our lives with the flavor of Taurus/Scorpio and Libra/Aries themes of me vs us, financial and emotional security, emotional and physical stability, peace, harmony, fairness, equality and a fight for egalitarian values. What do we release and how do we maintain what remains. What do we heal and how do we take comfort during the process of healing. How do we restore balance in our relationships and what do we compromise to achieve that balance.
